Minister - The Rev'd C. Todd Hester

On vocational ministry: “It’s tough and fun at the same time. I’m thankful to be doing it with the folks at Northminster.”
The Rev’d C. Todd Hester has been the installed Minister of Word and Sacrament at Northminster since January 2006. A native of South Carolina, Todd studied English at Furman University in Greenville, SC and received his M.Div from Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, AL. He began church work in 1998, was ordained in 2003, and has already been involved in a number of differing ministries including hospital chaplaincy, college ministry, youth ministry, rural church ministry, and racial reconciliation ministry. He attributes his hyperactivity to being overcaffeinated, yet his energy and enthusiasm come through in his worship leadership, preaching, and teaching. When asked about his experience at Northminster, Todd replies, “I have found Northminster to be a marvelous group of people. This is a strong and healthy congregation that balances honoring traditions with embracing change. I love being here.”
Todd enjoys hiking, golf, and working in the yard. He is married to the patient-as-Job Alison McClure Hester, and they have two beautiful daughters—Katie Marie and Madeline. The members of Northminster are trying to break Todd of his habit of singing rock lyrics during sermons, but he is a work in progress.
